Overview
We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Retrofitters to join our construction team. Retrofitters play a critical role in upgrading and modernising existing buildings, ensuring they meet today’s standards for energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out retrofitting works on existing buildings, including insulation, airtightness measures, ventilation upgrades, and energy-efficient systems installation.

  • Assess existing structures and collaborate with surveyors or project managers to determine suitable retrofit solutions.

  • Prepare, cut, and install new materials such as insulation boards, membranes, or cladding according to technical specifications.

  • Safely remove outdated systems, fixtures, or materials in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

  • Install or upgrade building components (e.g., windows, doors, heating systems) to improve thermal efficiency and overall building performance.

  • Perform air-tightness testing, sealing, and quality checks to ensure compliance with project specifications.

  • Use power tools, hand tools, and other construction equipment safely and effectively.

  • Work closely with other trades (electricians, plumbers, plasterers) to ensure integrated retrofit solutions.

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and site conditions.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Position Overview
Scottish Builders is seeking a skilled and experienced Builder to join our construction team based in Inverness. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering residential and small-scale commercial building projects across the Highlands.
